Racing Flair Vs Car Technologies
Im of the opinion that racing in highways, to get yourself ahead of the race, especially in KL, you do not need the high-performance engine assembled into your car, simply because the roads in KL are outright clogged and awashed with umpteen cars and traffic lights that make your car performance deem useless, if not seems redundant. Most would argue, if you ever race in KL, you need to have a good engine to be on the race, their viewpoint is that - the name of the game, is the engine of the car. Then they will also break down to main essential ingredients like grade of fuels and its combustion and compression ratio, the tyre and its pressure and diameter, the aerodynamic and weight of the car and its accessories, car suspension and handling, ball bearings, faster steerings, cooling system, and the list endlessly goes on. I understand all these elements play a pivotal role in racing (on the racing track only ), but I also believe and certain, without a shadow of doubt, - without good coordinations and awareness of the surroundings, judgments, mentality, good-eyesight, familiarity of directions, aggressiveness, sense and understanding of car's capability and its limitations etc , you will nullify all the privileges and beneficiaries of having good car parts. It's much more complicated than one would otherwise think as I expected one would probably know there are lot more nuts and bolts need to be taken into account. As vital as it is, the formal ingredients do not really apply in KL when comes to racing, it s the latter ingredients that what count. And for this matter, I have to agree to disagree tremendously when people complained and attributed their loss to car parts inferiority, no doubt a car which has been fully modified and performance-tuned gives an edge over a car which doesn't , but looking at the volume of traffics in KL, I don't see it as the only reason it affects the end result of the race as much as one put it. why? When you race, even if your car are given the top speed of 350km/h or more, you simply don't run 350km/h in KL. You won't get the chance or even able to leverage and make use of the top speed your car furnishes you, reason is simple - you are not racing on a dessert land - in between of every 2 to 4 km, you will see traffic lights around everywhere, and let's not talk about the myriad of cars you see everytime in the Klang Valley. And to say the car parts' inadequecy and shortcomings are the only cause, it's utter sheer rubbish, isn't it?
You can argue all day about what gives a driver his result and by-product, whether it is the good optimized ignition timing or a good dual exhaust system or whatever reasons that make the car runs faster than others, but there is one fact you cannot escape from, and that is the simple truth that if you don't have the fundamental or even the required racing flair, you don't win the race. The car doesn't move itself, it is the driver who moves the car foward no matter what. It's not rocket science and it's just as simple as that. To me, it is not about what cards you are drawn with, it is really about how you play the cards well that matter most. Unless if you are talking about two established professional drivers racing on a track or road with zero traffics, then it's complete whole new ball game altogether with technologies in the car would definitely and massively play a big role in getting you ahead of the race.Presumably you may want to debate too and ask "how about kancil-vs-bmw, wouldn't it makes alot of difference"...To clear the air, I am talking about the same level of playing field and not much of difference in a comparison - honda-city-vs-toyata-vios type of comparison or if you like it, it could be bmw-vs-merz. And I am not surprised too if I see a driver in a Proton Wira overtakes a driver in a honda-civic in KL. Reasons have been told!
